Best Cheat Day Brunch ever

Roger is the brother of my mom here in the US, Jan.  Jan is my father-in-law's wife, Ryan's step mom.  Jan and Roger are a few of the greatest people I've met.

Roger bakes these amazing nut and raisin bread and they are so fluffy and moist and it's so good if eaten plain, with butter, jam or cream cheese (which is my fave!).

Today is my cheat day so I indulged in this delicious bread with cream cheese and my favorite coffee of all time - DD!

Need to get the recipe, it's delicious!  After eating a slice, now I am in a baking mood...  hmmm what to bake?

Leche Flan

I am supposed to post this blog last May 5 for Cinco de Mayo and I didn't realized I saved it as a draft instead! Boo!  LOL.  Well here it is, I made my favorite desert Leche Flan for cinco de mayo celebration last month. TOtally forgot that this is not a traditional Mexican food but what the heck, its a flan and it has Spanish/French origins so I'd say it would count. lol .

Here is the recipe of the Filipino Leche Flan

we heart sushi

yes, whole world!  one of my family's addiction is japanese food!  We love them all - sushi, sashimi, gyoza, don buri, onigiri, okonomiyaki, udon, ramen, miso, yakisoba, sukiyaki, soba,  etc... you name it, we eat it. It all started with my dad, who worked as a Japanese chef / cook at a shipping liner for more than 10 years. He is the best Japanese cuisine extraordinaire!

Last week my boys were craving for some good ol home made jap food and I cannot say no to my boy's hearty appetite so I made them some gyoza and some suhi.  Will probably have some tepanyaki style dinner something this week! :)
