apollo loves pineapples

I am so happy that Apollo loves pineapples!  He ate a whole slice of it after dinner last night and wanted some more.  It's really important for me that he grows up eating all fruits and vegetables so this is one big milestone once again! :)  Way to go my boy!

making dyed easter eggs for Easter 2013

Happy Easter!  It's Apollo's first time to make easter eggs.  Last year he is still too small but this year we let him get dirty and have fun!  I got the idea from this blog Her View From Home where she used shaving cream and some food coloring (I used icing coloring) to make the marbled effect on the eggs.  Plus I figured Apollo is still too small to use paint and a paint brush (maybe next year) to paint the eggs.  Mine didn't totally turn out like the one she made because I did not mix up a lot of colors but I think they still look great!

where's apollo?

For a second there I panicked when i cannot find him in the kitchen, bedrooms, dining room and living room.  I have to check every room twice and the last room I double checked was the living room.  there he is under his blanket surrounded by his toys. :)

first love

Need I say more? :)

Happy Valentine's day to all the one who believes that love can conquer all. I found my one true love seven years ago and I then understood what it feels like.

This photo was taken last November 2010 in San Diego, CA when we took a 6-week road trip / work-cation (for Ryan at least).  This statue is called the "Unconditional Surrender." You can tell why. it's called that.  We can't help but surrender ourselves too to our love and to posing for a great photograph at that moment haha.

Apollo found the light!

It's been a week since Apollo found the awesomeness of turning on and off the light switch.  He will drag his little wooden chair by the wall where the lightswitch to the kitchen is located and will stand there probably about 40 to 50 times a day.  I would stop him several times and he will keep on going back.

Until today I hid his chair in our bedroom...

I obviously underestimated how smart my boy is.  My resourceful son started using anything from his toy plane, to a bucket and even a large empty box of Huggies diaper to use as a stepper to reach the light switch. hahaha.  It was hilarious when he tried to step on the empty Huggies box and obviously cannot stand up properly because the box is caving in.  He got so frustrated he grab the box with both hands and put it on top of his head and threw it across the room, grunting in frustration haha.  I wish I have taken a video of that.

As Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) said, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.”  Apollo remembered. Hahahha!

Apollo a year after 2-10-2013

History repeats itself.  Exactly a year ago, Apollo was sitting inside the same clothes hamper where he was playing with Daddy's GPS unit today. You can see the same smile on that adorable face.  The only difference he is a foot taller and probably 15 lbs heavier haha.

four years married - 02-07-2013

Four years baby, four years!  I cannot believe we have been married four years.  They said that after the 3rd year of marriage, the excitement of being with your spouse starts to get boring and going down the drain.  So wrong.  Yes, some of the excitement and thrill of being in love for the first time is gone, but there is a much stronger sense of excitement that grows between two married persons who are truly inlove.  Like the excitement of being together finally (we spent our first year of marriage away from each other, me in the Philippines, and Ryan in the US), having a baby and starting a new family, discovering more things about each other, going through challenges together, being the most creative and resourceful to make marriage and family life more exciting, and just going through this journey called life.  All I can say is four years felt like just four minutes and in that four minutes, so many things got crammed in our marriage and life together. We are so ready for more.  We are just beginning. I love my Ryan dearly and I cannot imagine life without him and our two boys now.

Today, I spent the whole day just with Ryan. My in-laws graciously agreed to look after the two boys while the two of us went loafing around town.  It was a short sweet 8 hours but having that alone time even for just a few hours is still very special and we had a great time.

I have been maintaining our wedding website here at http://www.mywedding.com/ryanandchrisann/  You can see here photos of our wedding, some important milestones in our family life and our yearly wedding anniversary.  Hope you can visit the site and feel free to leave a message for us!

camp apollo

Last christmas we got apollo a tent.  He loves crawling underneath tables, chairs the bed or any tight small crevice and hang out in there.  Before the tent, we would come up with a make up tent using blankets and chairs and he loves it.   Well now that he has his own tent, I pretty much already accepted that the tent will now be officially part of our living room space decor haha.  I don't care because he loves hanging out inside the tent.  He'd play inside, eat inside, watch TV from inside, one time he fell asleep inside too.  Good furniture investment huh?

my little major hunk

I took these photos of Apollo two weeks ago - love his shirt - MAJOR HUNK!  He turned 20 months last Jan 29 2013 (almost a week ago) and he is just growing into the sweetest, smartest and funniest handsome young boy.  I love him so much and I hope you all love these photos too!

2013! this is it!

its 2013 and I am ecstatic!  So many things have happened in my family's life  the past year (thus my excuse for not writing in this blogsite for A YEAR!) that I could not keep track.  Then again I should've kept tracked of everything even though I remembered every single detail of all the fun, memorable, challenging moments in our household the past 12 months.

This year though is gonna be different.  I am excited to make more memorable moments and make each one of them count.  So thats why I am going to revamp my blog site and call it "HERRON SWEET HOME."  Everything is already sweet in our household, just need to make it sweeter and decadent. :)

It's 2013 and this is going to be another great year!  Welcome to the Herron Sweet Home. :)

BER months is just around the corner

oh my god, it's unbelievable!  We are nearing the last quarter of the year, it seems like time just flew by real fast!  last year  October 7th I left the Philippines to migrate here to the US to be with my husband.  Well it feels a like it was only yesterday. And Ryan and I have been living in our first home for 9 months now, have a 3 month old baby and will have a 15-year old son here in a week! WAAAAAAAAAA
